Question. Your vehicle has quit working and it's the only 4 wheeler in the family. The wife digs out her one piece of jewelry worth anything and sells it to help out with the bills. The husband sits back like it is going to pay for it's self and doesn't lift one finger to dig out anything of his, sell it and put towards the bills.

What kind of man does this?
1. One that doesn't care
2. One that puts his collection before his family
3. One who doesn't really care for his wife
4. One who clearly doesn't want this to work!

He could load up any of his hundreds of comic books and sell them locally but NO HE WON'T!

Good morning Chief Jordan.

I’m writing this because I feel the citizens are being denied the speedy response their taxes pay for. On Jan 4th 2011 at 14:18 hrs I called in an ATTP BURG JO with a complete description of the two suspects. As it was within 30 mins of shift change the dispatcher did not dispatch the call. I find this completely lacking professionalism on your departments behalf as it is a TPD rule the dispatcher followed.

THE RULE NEEDS TO BE CHANGED!!! Or at least have your Public Relations Officer tell the public how they will not receive service in certain time periods unless there is someone dying.

I guess I should have lied and called it in as BIP1 and not failed to pull the trigger, I‘ll bet I would have had a very timely response then. .

I am truly disgusted with the police dept over this matter!, and hopefully you are also. If the response to calls stop 30 mins before shift change then the pay should also STOP.

When I called back an hour later to cancel this call as not one unit responded the Call-taker seemed surprised then informed me “You need to call UDN for that Watch Order your requesting.” Not once did she say the call was still holding or anything.
I did as requested and then the officer didn’t even want a description of the suspects. This just boggles my mind and hopefully there is some remedial training going on!

Finally after 1700 hrs Officer GoForth called me back reference the WO and took the info. I can assure you I was tempted to stay awake all night and see just how many times a unit / any unit checked the area as requested. I wonder if making the statement “Do I call Chief Jordan or Channel 2 first” caused the call back at 1700 hrs.

Hopefully you will change this rule as it in no way benefit’s the citizens and simply increases the problems, or at least have the call-takers explain to the victim/s the response will be delayed because of this rule!.

It’s sad when there is more of a response on Facebook than your department.

After my letter to the Chief this was the letter sent to dispatch by one of their own...

Several people have asked for clarification on the procedures for dispatching calls close to shift change times. Tulsa Police Department maintains a policy specifically addressing this process (103B). Dispatch personnel, as well as officers, are NOT authorized to deviate from this policy without express supervisory authority from TPD. With few exceptions, even PSC supervisory staff will not change TPD policy without extenuating circumstance being present.

I encourage you to avoid knowingly violating this, or any other, policy without proper authorization. Violations of policy subject "YOU" to disciplinary action, not the unauthorized person who told you to do so. PROTECT YOURSELF!

Based on the following overview of TPD P&P 103B, dispatchers should NOT hold calls for any reason. Call assignment should continue up to shift change without authorization. PERIOD.

I highlighted the critical portions of the policy that mandate this practice.

TPD P&P 103B - POLICY

When a call is assigned to an officer, the officer is responsible for the proper disposition of the call including completion of any necessary reports. Disposition may include responding to the request for service, requesting reassignment of the call to another unit if field circumstances will delay the officer originally assigned from responding to the call in a reasonable length of time, or passing the call on to the unit's relief if the call is of a non-emergency nature and is assigned within the last fifteen (15) minutes of the shift.

Please note, TPD clearly places the responsibility for the call on the officers, not dispatchers.

TPD P&P 103B.9 - PROCEDURES

9. Officers may hold non-emergency calls if assigned within fifteen (15) minutes of the end of the shift. Officers originally assigned the call shall bear the responsibility for ensuring that all calls are handled in a proper manner. If not relieved promptly by the on-coming beat officer, the initially assigned officer shall pass the call to the on-coming supervisor for disposition.

I realize that some officers in the field may complain about a late call assignment (especially for lower priority calls). If they do, refer them to a supervisor.

If you have questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to ask. I remind everyone, while we are obligated to follow the policies and procedures of the agencies we serve, we don't write their policies . . . they do.

How many of you have been in the check-out line at a super-market and someone is ahead of you w/a basket filled so full someone has to keep a hand on top to stop the items from falling out? You notice the basket has as much if not more junk food ( chips, sugary drinks, and other such junk) as it does healthy food. Then you see a majority of the items are being paid for with food-stamps.

I have to tell you, it makes me really angry to see this waste of my tax dollars!

I haven’t a problem helping someone in need. But to pay for them to eat junk food, and serve this junk to their kids is more than a bit asinine. Then even more tax dollars are spent on free dental for the kids. Ever wonder if the cavities came from to much junk being eaten? W.I.C. controls what is bought on their program so why can’t some control be placed on food-stamps?

Many say, “over-hauling the system will cost millions”, I have to reply, “Not only will we have healthier children, millions will be saved in a very short time!”

Ammunition Accountability Act

Remember how Obama said that he wasn't going to take your guns? Well, it seems that his minions and allies in the anti-gun world have no problem with taking your ammo!

The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including TN, Illinois and Indiana ) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture, a data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers. Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded.

Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including handloaded ammo.) They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more! If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun!

Please give this the widest distribution possible and contact your Reps!

It's the ammo, not the guns... I've said for a long time that they wouldn't go for your guns, they'd go for your ammo... guns have a Constitutional protection. Ammo does not. A list of states where this legislation is pending is in the final paragraph. Not in CO yet, they'll go where the pansies are first.

Heads up to all of you who swore to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign AND domestic. Let your state Legislatures know that we do not want this bill passed, and petition them to vote no on this bill. We should keep after them until the bill is closed by bombarding them with e-mails, phone calls, and letters.

A letter by Daniel Flick entitled "Rewriting history" (Dec. 19) really caught my attention. He attacks Norm Rourke, saying he is "either greatly misinformed or is choosing to try to rewrite history" because he blamed our problems on George W. Bush for his lack of leadership. Flick says the real reason for our current situation is the failure of a Democratic controlled Congress, specifically the 2005 (109th) Congress, for failing "to rein in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac when asked to do so by Bush, and the 2006 (again the 109th) Congress for failing to respond to Bush when he "asked for something to be done," which he says "mirrored" what happened when John McCain "introduced legislation in the Democratic controlled Senate." If Flick hadn't been so busy trying to rewrite history himself, and if he wasn't so desperate to blame Democrats, he might have noticed a huge problem with his story. Since 1995, the Republicans have controlled both houses of Congress, except during the 107th congress in 2001 when the Democrats controlled just the Senate, and the 110th Congress won by the Democrats on Nov. 7, 2006. And who took their oath in January 2007! So you see, Bush must have been speaking to his own party in 2005 and 2006, not Democrats. .Gene Stipe was able to commit crimes. Now he's found mentally incompetent by a U.S. District Judge? When did he begin suffering from dementia and become mentally incompetent? Was it before or after his criminal acts? While out on supervised probation, having unauthorized contact with Steve Covington, also a convicted felon? Incompetent before or after he funneled excessive amounts of money into Democrat politics through straw donors? Leads one to wonder just how this ruling was made that excuses him from standing trial on a four-count indictment. Say he's really suffering from dementia, was this before or after he pleaded guilty to perjury and federal campaign violations? Why not house him in the facility to be built at 10 N. Yale Ave., or another like it? Why simply dismiss the charges? Does one think he is no longer a criminal? Being under lock and key instead of being out on supervised probation would have kept him from committing further criminal acts. Who needs to worry about the corruption of those in Washington who are elected when we see it blatantly dismissed around here? Will the dismissal of this four-count indictment be appealed to a higher court? This is just a template for those who plead guilty to escape justice. If a criminal has money in the bank or a stock portfolio then the state should seize these to help pay for care of that criminal.

Why's EMSA needed?

We had an increase on our city utility bill for the latest contract with EMSA. This was to allow better service to the community. EMSA was sure the Tulsa Fire Department couldn't do as well or better if given the responsibility, right? Wrong! The TFD didn't have the trained paramedics at the time, but more firefighters are being trained every day. There is no justifiable reason for giving EMSA more than a two-year contract. Why is 75 percent of TFD's dispatches generated by EMSA? Because EMSA doesn't have sufficient vehicles or personnel to respond to emergencies in a timely manner. The TFD responds to high-priority EMSA calls as first responder. This is because a fire truck can be on the scene of an emergency in three to four minutes, whereas EMSA has a usual response time of 10 to 12 minutes. If EMSA is unable to respond in a timely manner, and continuously requests TFD's response, why do we need a contract with EMSA? I can guarantee in a year you won't need EMSA. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the contract between EMSA and the city of Tulsa, but it seems the taxpayers are footing an unnecessary expense, having two agencies doing the same job. I wonder what EMSA's constant requests have cost TFD? The TFD stated that every time apparatus leaves the station it costs the city about $500.

Bush and his ilk didn’t do this by themselves. The Democrats thought to stand firm and did, from Feb 5th to May 22nd, where they pulled their demands on funding for the war be tied to a timeline for withdrawal. Mr. Morgan of Virginia explained the cave-in as, a concession to reality. His reality allowed a paltry excuse of a minimum wage increase and $17 billion in added domestic and military spending. The reality is, many have utterly failed in keeping their promises, and have shown they are no different that those replaced. So no I don’t expect great changes w/more Democrats in Congress. I expect the same old malfeasance, and as they haven’t term limits, I pray they do less harm than those before. No-one is perfect, but those we elect should at least strive for it in their representation of us!, and if that’s to difficult then try to at least do a good job. Do you think they have done a good job for the people? Maybe if we voted them out after they reneged on their promises the word would go out, No 2nd term & no second chances! It makes no difference be they Democrat, Republican or Independent, service to the people is the only concern.
The promises made by the 2 Democratic nominees on health care are not even considered feasible by their own party members, Sen. Rockefeller D-W.VA openly admits, “there is not enough money to do all the things they promise“. If we can spend BILLIONS on a war for Bush’s fancy surely we could have afforded this healthcare and schooling ect.
Why is it we can never afford to fix our problems but we can easily afford Billions to force others to fix theirs? Is this a Democrat or Republican, strong point or fault? I seem to remember more voted for the war than against it.
So please stop all this, it’ll change with new leadership at the helm. Start making it a change across the board and see if that is an incentive.

Horizontal drilling to recover petroleum products can change the energy picture for the United States. In the Fort Worth area the Barnett shale natural gas field is extimated to contain about 150 billion cubic feet of methane per square mile of which nearly half can be obtained by horizontal drilling methods. Here is an estimate of what horizontal drilling can do in Montana and the the Dakotas:February 13, 08Massive Oil Deposit Could Increase US reserves by 10x America is sitting on top of a super massive 200 billion barrel Oil Field that could potentially make America Energy Independent and until now has largely gone unnoticed. Thanks to new technology the Bakken Formation in North Dakota could boost America’s Oil reserves by an incredible 10 times, giving western economies the trump card against OPEC’s short squeeze on oil supply and making Iranian and Venezuelan threats of disrupted supply irrelevant.In the next 30 days the USGS (U.S. Geological Survey) will release a new report giving an accurate resource assessment of the Bakken Oil Formation that covers North Dakota and portions of South Dakota and Montana. With new horizontal drilling technology it is believed that from 175 to 500 billion barrels of recoverable oil are held in this 200,000 square mile reserve that was initially discovered in 1951. The USGS did an initial study back in 1999 that estimated 400 billion recoverable barrels were present but with prices bottoming out at $10 a barrel back then the report was dismissed because of the higher cost of horizontal drilling techniques that would be needed, estimated at $20-$40 a barrel. It was not until 2007, when EOG Resources of Texas started a frenzy when they drilled a single well in Parshal N.D. that is expected to yield 700,000 barrels of oil that real excitement and money started to flow in North Dakota. Marathon Oil is investing $1.5 billion and drilling 300 new wells in what is expected to be one of the greatest booms in Oil discovery since Oil was discovered in Saudi Arabia in 1938. The US imported about 14 million barrels of Oil per day in 2007 , which means US consumers sent about $340 Billion Dollars over seas building palaces in Dubai and propping up unfriendly regimes around the World, if 200 billion barrels of oil at $90 a barrel are recovered in the high plains the added wealth to the US economy would be $18 Trillion Dollars which would go a long way in stabilizing the US trade deficit and could cut the cost of oil in half in the long run.If there are 200 billion barrels of oil recoverable over 50 years, the potential is 11 million barrels per day. That could wipe out the US imports from countries other than Canada and Mexico. That would help us a lot in regard to the politics of the Middle East. If we would drill in ANWR and in coastal areas, such as off of Florida where the Chineses are drilling, the US could be an oil exporter. If the Colorado shale oil and Canadian Oil Sands potential of over two trillion barrels are considered, it will be centuries before the world runs out of oil. There is also some horizontal drilling going on in other areas. In East Texas there are now wells being drilled to 19,000 feet, but I don't know what is being sought nor how successful the wells are. But, it costs a lot to drill to a depth of 19,000 feet, so the oil companies must think there is a large potential reward. Imagine the distress of the "greenies" as they read about these potential petroleum reserves. Surely they must be working on how to stop drilling in the Dakotas.

"Economic impact of HB 1804 estimated" (March 26) is a classic case of "figures don't lie, but liars figure." The Oklahoma Bankers Association that commissioned the highly questionable study is concerned about losing accounts as illegal aliens leave Oklahoma for other states or their homelands. It is also true that construction companies (large bank customers) are upset their cheap illegal labor ($3 to $5 an hour less than legal citizens) has been diminished and they are increasingly faced with paying appropriate wages. If "researchers" wish to determine the outcome of a study before they begin, they simply enter bogus data and their results are guaranteed to be skewed in the direction of the desired result. The researchers claimed that their studies properly included the "lost outcome of productivity (whatever that nebulous term means) and lost income of those workers (aliens)." They then felt free to propagate their farcical estimates of billions of dollars lost if various numbers of illegals left Oklahoma. I believe the vast majority of Oklahomans will totally reject such outrageous and dishonest "studies," and the researchers should be ashamed of putting

She stated "God will help them" and had NO remorse comming here illegally for the sole reason of giving birth. I think she should have been arrested, deported, the American child she just gave birth to should be taken by the State for Foster Care, and any $$ due should go to the Foster Parents, not this illegal! If there is NO Profit for these type people, why come here? In this Tx hospital it's not uncommon for an illegal soaking wet (from just crossing the stream) to show up at the hospital doors sometimes already in labor, just to have a kid here & get the benifits. What a system we have, huh?

In another close-minded editorial by Tulsa World Associate Editor Mike Jones ("Money drain" April 4), he continues to sympathize with the illegal immigrants and attack HB 1804. You know that Jones wrote it as soon as you start to read the content. Jones correctly states that HB 1804 is more than economics. Quoting state Rep. Randy Terrill, it is about following or breaking the law. But Jones states that Terrill and his following fail to see the big picture. Unfortunately, it is Jones who fails to see the big picture. HB 1804 is the answer that most taxpaying citizens agree on and support. Jones agrees that illegal immigrants do put pressure on our social services -- health care and schools. They do pay sales tax when they buy retail items and indirectly pay a part of the property taxes through their rent or lease payments. However, since payday occurs at the Transfund machines on Friday afternoon for many or most, that skips the connection for participation in Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. So we can go back to the burden this puts on our social services, health care and schools, all paid for by the legal, English-speaking, property-owning taxpayers who resent the drain on our system. Most Oklahomans are fair-minded and accepting people who think that English should be the official language. I fail to see how African American males are part of the problem. The problem is, employers that hire illegals, property owners that rent to them and clearly fail to enforce the max amounts of occupants allowed, our govt is so wussie it cannot enforce our laws but by god expect those we invade to obey. Cut all federal benifits to any state that is found to give public assistance to illegals. Deny them the right to deliver their offspring in out hospitals or take the child (the American) and place it with American families, clearly they don't need to be raised by their criminal border jumping parents. It sucks that we will harp on a man because he is practicing freedom of religion. We always scream about the seperation of Church & State, but then we have those (who are not muslim by the way) that seek to again choose a leader by what book is carried into worship. I don't agree w/Mr Wright's teachings and I'm sure I'm not alone. But would we agree w/the interpretation by your religious leader? I had a friend that just sent me an email calling Obama a "MUSLIM N------ ANTICHRIST" and predicts he will not last a year in office if elected. That such inbreds walk amongst us is SCARY too me. He submitted this budget while our Washington lawmakers are still debating how to best stimulate the economy and busy REWARDING illegal aliens with a big cut out of the tax rebate pool that they are giving back to hard-working taxpayers like YOU and me.

INCREDIBLY, our elected representatives want to “rebate” to NON-TAXPAYER illegal aliens, rather than fully secure our borders will all $3 Billion dollars to the budget of the Homeland Security Department that was stripped away last December. Rather than encourage illegal aliens to stay here and continue violating our laws, culture and sovereignty, we should force our government to use those funds to deter illegal incursions with a physical border barrier and uphold the laws that will keep illegal aliens from receiving the tax rebate, driver’s licenses and jobs belonging to hard-working American citizens.

It's impossible in 2006 to stand proud when “The Star Spangled Banner” is played.

Aside from the fact that it now is a jingoist anthem rather than a national anthem, I gag on the repeated line, “O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.”

This no longer is a country in which the majority believes in freedom for anybody who is not exactly like themselves. And it is, in fact, a nation of cowards, run by cowardly bullies.

An apparent majority of the population has bought into the fear-mongering of this country's wretched rulers and surrendered to personal, petty fears of displeasing a boss or customers or neighbors or anybody who might be critical. Nothing must be risked. Principle is a fool's word, used by the regime's enemies.

The common position is that it's better to allow torture and mass murder and the secret and long-term imprisonment of whomever the rulers choose to destroy, for whatever reason, than to risk the scorn of the ignorant jackasses who live next door or the enmity of the guy who provides your shrinking income and who is arrogantly responsible for its shrinkage.This is a country not only willing but eager to give up the freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States and, in fact, the Constitution itself, in exchange for transparently false promises of safety. And, if you're of the benefiting class, it looks like a good deal to exchange a rule of law for profit and a privileged life in which the strictures that apply to the masses don't apply to you.

“Security” for oneself and one's family trumps all other considerations, and please don't let us notice that under the ministrations of the people who now control every important function in this country, we grow hourly more insecure. A subsidiary of Halliburton, the vice president's company, has been given a contract to build internment (concentration) camps at secret locations across the country, for prisoners who have yet to be identified, but pretend you didn't hear that. (And if all you hear or read of news comes from the corporate-owned mass media, you probably haven't heard it.)

The United States of America is ruled by murdering thieves, and all but a tiny minority of citizens close their eyes to that demonstrable fact. Of course, they are very rich murdering thieves, and we forgive the very rich anything.

Oh, of course, George W. Bush and Dick Cheney and Karl Rove and the rest of them have not personally murdered anyone. Too messy. But they have caused needless and illegal slaughter of many thousands of human beings, and, more specifically, ordered and approved torture that has led to the death of at least dozens of victims and protected the torturers from prosecution.

This country never has been fond of reality, nor does it like truth. Now it rejects those concepts entirely. The United States exists in a fantasy world, no more real than the universe of “Star Wars.” The rest of the world looks at us with disgust and disbelief, but Americans think they “envy what we have,” which is another delusion.

The disgust and disbelief often are thinly disguised, because some of the people who run some of the other countries do, at least, want our money and, especially, our missiles and helicopters and fragmentation bombs, the better to slaughter their own and other people. Think of Pakistan, as one of many examples: It calls itself our ally in the nonexistent “War on Terror” -- laughing openly at us while saying it – and the Bush Administration pours military aid into the stores of its butchering, terrorist-supporting military ruler.

But don't give us facts or truths. Most of the population prefers slogans, easily understood, easily absorbed and requiring no thought. Quick, let me get back to “reality TV,” which, of course, has barely a glancing relationship to reality.

If some ravening right winger looking for liberal blood happens on this essay, for example, the first accusation will be that I am “one of the hate America first crowd.” Easy concept, already understood through endless repetition in use against critics of the Bush regime. Conveys a simple idea, doesn't require even the slightest thought – in fact forbids thought – and makes me “the enemy.” No need to address the issues I present.

“Treason” probably will come into any diatribe that is longer than 10 or 15 words. That's a certain crusher among those who believe Bush is America and America is Bush and both are almost on a par with God. That is, not incidentally, a particular god with whom Bush, Rush Limbaugh, Jerry Falwell and a few others are on such intimate terms that they know his every wish and whim.

If your god disagrees on some small point, say the rightness of torturing a human being, ripping out his fingernails or raping her with a broom handle on some small suspicion fostered by a known liar, or beating a man until his legs are, literally, pulp and he finally dies, your god is wrong. (All of those things have been proven to have happened, committed by American soldiers or “intelligence service” people.)

Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly and a host of other broadcast shouters and right-wing bloggers and other disciples of the Joseph Goebbels propaganda technique live by claiming kinship with that sick and weird god of theirs while threatening and slandering others who don't share their love of brutality.

America does not allow criticism. It scares most of us. The country went nuts when Hugo Chavez, president of Venezuela, mocked Bush and Bush's America at the United Nations. There were demands that he not ever be allowed in our country again. Never mind that the United Nations is here at our invitation – actually, our insistence -- and part of the deal is that all member countries can be represented by whomever they choose.

No one noticed that unlike George W. Bush, Chavez was legally elected by the voters of his country and that, furthermore, much of his mocking assessment of Bush was straight-up true.

Oh...And never mind that this country, under damned near every president it has had in the past 150 years, has interfered in the workings of most Latin American countries, many times supporting the most vile dictators for the sake of America's richest families and the corporations they control, deliberately keep the populations of those countries starving and essentially homeless. And that's hardly the worst of it.

There also have been naughty little episodes such as supporting a huge American corporation even as it sponsored the butchering of whole tribes of native peoples in the jungles of South America. And, yes, that's true. No one went to prison, or got so much as a $100 fine. (So far as I know, that hasn't happened in the past decade or so, but I wouldn't bet heavily against it having been done again.)

The most pervasive myth of all, and probably the most destructive, is taught to us almost from birth. It is that whatever is done by the United State of America to other countries, other people, is the right thing. (The flip of that is no one must ever dare to criticize us or try to tell us anything.) It is the unshakable belief of most Americans that every action taken by this country is right because....if it weren't right, we or our leaders wouldn't do it.

We are right because we are us and we are by are very collective (or governmental) nature always right, not to mention pure of heart. You can't beat that. It makes us more infallible than any pope.

It almost goes without saying, then, that few people, almost no writers for corporate news operations, linked Chavez's mockery to the fact that members of the Bush crowd have been hurling insults and threats his way since he was elected and that some nodded their heads gravely when the violent super-Christian Pat Robertson called for Chavez's murder. The others just pretended they didn't hear that.

The Bush crowd maintains it is seeking to promote “democracy” in Iraq and elsewhere, yet every major move it has made in the Mideast has been anti-democratic. When Bush talks about “spreading democracy” what he is talking about is spreading corporate control to new populations.

One of a thousand available examples in Iraq: Within two or three weeks of taking over in Iraq, the U.S.-controlled government ordered Iraqi farmers to stop the practice of saving seeds from their crops for the next season's plantings. Instead, as in this country, farmers were and are required by American-written law to purchase new seeds each year – and the only available sources since we moved in are American companies that are in favor with the Bush administration.

(There is a similar law in this country, but that at least has legal justification in the claim that the companies developed the seeds now in use. In Iraq, the seeds the farmers used were developed there, by them, over a couple of thousand years. Most of the seeds Bush and Co. tried to force on them are unsuitable to the ground and climate of Iraq.)

We have the most corrupt government in the developed world, possibly barring Russia. Our health care system ranks at or near the bottom in all essential areas among countries in the so-called developed world. Countries such as Cuba and Serbia rank higher. Our education system is being choked to death. Our armaments industry feeds guns and worse to the most murderous regimes in the world and our government assists or, at least, looks the other way.

Our Congress is a shame and a farce. We all know that at least two-thirds of Congress is owned by the giant corporations. Halliburton rules supreme; it's boss is the country's vice president – or perhaps the real president -- and billions of tax dollars are being donated to its purse annually, and openly, and no one dares speak out against it.

The military is spending billions on useless high-tech crap that has absolutely no application to the kind of messes we put our military into, but the suffering troops on the ground in the world's danger spots still can't get decent equipment. Arming foot soldiers isn't nearly as profitable as building nonworking and unworkable missile defense systems costing hundreds of billions of dollars to protect us from.....uh....well, somebody.

Just days ago, as I write this, Congress formally presented the president and his murderous bunch with legal permission to “disappear” whomever they want for as long as they want and to treat them with whatever degree of butchery satisfies their lust for inflicting pain. So far as I can learn to date, the only comparable law in the western world in recent centuries is the “enabling act” which gave those same powers to Adolf Hitler in 1933. And the Bush crowd is yelling “fascist” and pointing its fingers in the direction of Islam.

Fascism. It's a system refined by Benito Mussolini in Italy in the 1920s. It means, by Mussolini's own definition, the melding of corporate and government power to rule the masses. We may not be quite there yet in this country, but we're getting there fast; we have it in the essential areas of governance, and now that der fuhrer is able to legally “disappear” people forever, and to torture at will, it shouldn't take too much longer.

Oh, but it's all necessary to fight that “War on Terror.” Most Americans apparently believe there is such a “war,” though very few can describe or define it. It exists and governs all that the administration does to this country and others because Bush and the others say it does.

The phantom “war” is orange alerts in the weeks preceding national elections, and it is all sorts of rules – which change frequently – governing what you can take aboard commercial aircraft.

Hardly anybody knows that the most effective measure that could be taken to protect this country from further terrorist attacks – and it won't stop determined terrorists – is to increase by a hundred or a thousand times the examination of shipping containers entering this country through its seaports. The Bush administration will not take that step, however, absolutely refuses to do it, and the only possible explanation is that it would cut into the profits of somebody who is in their good graces.

But, say the optimists and the “moderates,” to state such things is “counterproductive.” We will antagonize the “moderate” voter who, if we talk nice to him, will allow us to put Democrats back in control. To state that the Bush people are killers, and torturers and thieves – though the record proves those things beyond doubt – is said to be “over the top. ” Why, a New York Times writer said recently that any talk of impeaching Bush and Cheney is “over the top.”

To put it politely for the last time, that is nonsense.

The “moderate” voter is watching some idiot on the tube nattering about “relationships” or bed wetting, or the latest celebrity pregnancy, or he's watching whichever movie has the most car chases. He or she, especially if living in the South or West, most often votes for the candidates who yell the loudest and run the most TV commercials in the six weeks leading up to the election, and/or the ones who most viciously attacks her or his opponent, and that usually is the Republicans because they have the money and no scruples. Karl Rove showed them that winning is the only real “value.”

Making nice also is nonsense because there is little chance that the neocons, who have learned to pervert and control the electoral system in key places, will let the Democrats “win,” even if they are favored by a solid majority of voters. Watch the exit polls vs. the official vote counts – unless and until the polls also are perverted. The Republicans have stolen two presidential elections. Who is so naive as to believe they won't do it again?

And then there are the Democrats: Cowards, pants-wetting cowards who would not stand up and fight against the torture bill nor the destruction of habeas corpus and who, with a handful of late-arriving exceptions, won't publicly denounce the Bush program in Iraq, Afghanistan or elsewhere. The people who run the Democratic Party organizations and most of its office holders are as tied to big money as the Republicans; they settle for the leavings, but they are terrified of having to do without those scraps.

Who are they afraid of? They're afraid of the guy who wrote a letter to the editor of my local newspaper a few days ago and said what we've all heard several thousand times, literally: “This is the best country in the world, bar none.” You could not help but see him in your mind, slapping the bar and jutting his chin aggressively and daring anyone smaller or older to challenge him.

(Ever notice that the people who are the most adamant in that pronouncement are people who've never been anywhere else? Or if they have, it was in the military, and all they ever saw of Korea, or France, or Germany or The Philippines was the bars and whorehouses catering to American soldiers and sailors. Well, OK. A few have been on guided tours which were carefully designed to keep them from having to talk to any natives of the places they toured.)

It might be possible to talk to that bar-pounding, jut-chinned guy and get him to understand some truths, but it can't be done by acting as though George W. Bush and Co. are okay. Why would such a person vote for a weak Republican calling himself or herself a Democrat when he can vote for a real Republican?

A Democratic recovery of a majority in one or even both houses of Congress won't make any real difference unless – a totally unlikely prospect – all of the new Democrats are people of integrity who have the guts to stand up to the Republicans, the Bush administration and their own entrenched leadership. You'd do better to put your money on a 45 to 1 shot in a $3,000 claiming race.

In truth, the two parties share a platform and an ownership and differ only by nuance.

We, the writers and editors and even the bloggers, aren't supposed to say such things. We know that, and more often than not we censor ourselves. We know we'll antagonize people, and sometimes we actually endanger ourselves by speaking truth in the face of our national delusions. This country is full of violent haters, and the National Rifle Association and its water carriers in Congress and the various legislatures make sure they are well armed.The degree to which the corporate news agencies censor truth has gone to the extreme. That makes it both more dangerous and more necessary for a few people out here to speak truth, if just for the record.

Opportunities to do that will grow fewer before much longer. It's already clear that the Internet will be manipulated to control what is said here. New rules and methods of operating already in the works will make it ever more difficult for readers to find minority viewpoints.

The corporate press already is nicely under control without any need for government censorship.

When Congress passed those legal abominations on torture and habeas corpus, my local rag devoted a third to a half of the space on its front page to a lament about the shortage of good restaurants in the Twin Cities suburbs. To date, there has been no serious analysis of the bills; most readers could not tell from the obscure newspaper accounts what the new law says or does. The headline reads “My Life in Pictures.” Inside, the American edition also carries the story on the failures of the Bush war in Afghanistan, but Newsweek editors think – or, more likely, know – that American readers won't buy magazines with unpleasant information on the cover.

In trips abroad in recent years, I noticed similar disparities in Newsweek and other American news magazines. The ones I picked up in France or Germany had serious subjects on the covers, but when I got back here, the same magazines on the newsstand had photos of film or television personalities or fashion models or some such insignificant crappola. Don't tell, don't ask, and for Gawd's sake don't put anything unpleasant before my eyes.

So far, the Constitution doesn't protect that banner waving “oe'r the land of the free and the home of the brave” from burning by protesters, but it will. The amendment may replace the Bill of Rights.Other western countries, especially Canada, should be thinking now about how they're going to deal with the U.S. citizens who will in increasing numbers be seeking asylum, or at least respite, within their borders. On CNN tonight, Lou Dobbs spoke of the war going on in Mexico with drug cartels. Mexico has requested and our elected have agreed, to assist them w/an electronic data base for tracing weapons used is this war, specifically the trafficking of arms from the United States.
They also spoke of Mexico finally making entry into a drug stronghold after long hours of fighting, & of finding 6 men that had been executed. 4 men were arrested, one was a municipal police officer and another was a ad-ministerial police officer. The connection between the Cartels & Mexican Law Enforcement has long been suspected and here is the proof.
Mexico states, "if the U.S. wasn’t such a large consumer of narcotics there wouldn’t be drug cartels, and that this is a problem on their Northern Border."
Well excuse the hell out of me!!!
We have asked on numerous occasions that we have Mexico’s assistance in securing our respective borders, and the assistance we have received from Mexico is, millions & millions of Mexican’s invading our country, and open taunts and dissing by their leaders on how they will continue this action until there is no longer a United States.
They don’t want to engage our military by openly aggressing us, hell all they have to do is, keep crossing the borders, keep breeding and dropping their litters over here, keep adding to the numbers of them on Welfare, keep draining our local taxes to take care of them medically & mentally, keep overloading our prisons, keep sending BILLIONS of U.S. dollars back to Mexico. Since King George and this Congress have done nothing to stop the tidal wave of companies out-sourcing jobs and have clearly shown themselves completely unable to do they job they were hired for (protect, and serve to better this land & it's legal citizens), maybe we need to OUT-SOURCE THEM! Now thats and idea and billions (yup billions) won't be wasted on their pork projects, or illegal wars.
Here are just a few :-) of my ideas on how we could re-write their job requirements;
1. On any day The People are voting, require all transportation contracted by the governing municipality ie buses or trains, be free to any registered voter with a voter I.D. The free period would begin 3 hrs prior the polls opening and end 3 hours after they have closed.
2. They would never again have the power to send us to war w/o the consent of the people. Consent?, how will they know if we are for or against this action? It means we go and vote. If the President and Congress send us to war, then with-in 3 wks of their sending in the 1st troops or fireing the 1st shot, The People would make their wishes known and those elected would act accordingly or be dismissed. Oh least I forget, when you no longer hold/fill the position we will no longer foot the bill for your personal security guards.
3. We The People (voters = shareholders) will also review and decide your salaries.
4. We will will no longer provide non-emergency transportation, for any previous or current office holder. How you travel is your choice and your cost.
a. emergency transportation means "emergency" transportation.
5. Your security details, and your henchmen-FBI or CIA or any other taxed with the detaining/transporting/housing of person/s arrested, will be held to the same rules as any other State or Local agency.
6. You will no longer be able to obtain secret warrants from a secret court.
7. You face punishment by a Crimminal Court or Civil court if you violate someone's civil rights.
8. No more secret prisons. If you arrest someone thought to be a terrorist or even worse, you will still abide by the law.

Have you taken stock recently of how those elected to The Hill are doing? I have and it not only scares me to death, it really pisses me off. As I can’t think of anything good they have done for the country let me list a few of the horrors.

1. War. Unable to step forward and admit he was wrong & remove those placed in harms way by his original actions we have lost how many under the rule of King George?
a) As of November 23, 2007 the total is 3,874 Americans have died .
b) At least 28,489 have been wounded in action, according to the Pentagon.
c) Do you happen to know the number of suicides of U.S. troops connected to this war? If you find the information (and not from this administration’s counters) please let me know.

2. The V.A. It is their duty to take care of all those who have served this country in times of war.
a) We saw King George’s lips moving and heard him promise our returning troops would be cared for.
b) As usual when his lips are moving it’s BAD for America.
c) I think King George & peers should have to reside in the same barracks he expects our wounded troops to stay in.
Rutrow…he refused to honor his oath to his country while in the service …what makes us believe he would ever keep his word to the troops as King George?

3. War Costs. The Vietnam war cost $600 million and this one will most likely exceed a trillion dollars.

The Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights, were written for a reason and give us every right to regain control of our government even by revolution if need be. This is not their country it is OUR country! How quickly they forget this is not a country ruled by the rich & wannabe elite, We The People have the power and need to remember how to exercise it!
Possible ways to ensure this….Go back to the Carter Administration and all Administrations since & Seize all funds and assets of those who are traitors!

b) Another war for Independence
c) Come To Jesus Meeting
d) Tar, Feather, & Pole party.
e) Public trials & public hangings for those convicted of Treason

Mexico's largest export is young people. While sitting here counting up the pro's vs con's on illegal aliens I tried to see it purely as a business venture. Since it seems the majority of illegal aliens are from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and such and the majority arriving here after crossing Mexico's borders also, what is Mexico's largest export to the United States? Why would I ask that? Well how many states are giving Drivers's License's to illegals? Last count I heard was 8. Think how those illegal votes will play a part in our safety & security & sovereignty. Another reason is because we have people like Obama & Clinton & yes McCain (no matter how much he flip-flops) that are frothing at the thought of having the power to even further rip open our borders. Hiliary can be against & for it in the same sentance. Obama was hands on in the crafting of the Kennedy - McCain Amnesty crap, and he was more than proud of it in his speeches on the campaign trail. Now we hear that Bush' proposed tax relief (to jump start the economy) will also be given to illegals. Well if they can find them to give each a refund then surely they can find them to deport them. Like DUH! They should also be able to find, arrest, & jail those employing the illegals. Did you hear the top dog at Homeland Security (oxymoron? lol ) recently? He thinks that stream running between Texas & Mexico is a barrier and shouldn't require further, and that it's length along our border should be counted as "secured - fenced". Thoughts For Spending OUR Money

Instead of giving the Mexican Government $500 million in "spy ware" why not use that on our borders? Instead of allowing $200 million in "pet projects" to go thru why not put it into our border? What could justify these expenditures when $3.000.000.000 already marked for our border was removed from the budget?

Every member of Congress should be publicly removed from office and exiled from this country.

If we suspended all aid to any country until, A) all Americans are back from Iraq and Afganistan, B) every man, woman, & child has affordable insurance, C) We have clear evidence that 20 million illegals have been removed from our country. We could pay for it in no time as those elected realized their gravy train was more than cut off at the pass, it was pulverized to dust.

Imagine the monies we send out yearly to everyone except Americans, how about it being spent on America for a change? If the government is no longer representing The People then the people need to regain control of the government.

If State taxes were kept by the States until representation was again in clear evidence, this Treason against The People would be brought to a quick end. You can't fund an illegal war when there is no money comming in. You can't keep kicking the middle class and expect to have your mansion (or 2) to display your wealth. The Senate legislation does attempt to limit subsidies by eventually banning payments to "nonfarmers" whose income averages more than $750,000 a year. The bill defines farmers as those who earn more than two-thirds of their income from agriculture.

There would be no income-based limits on what a farmer could collect, though the bill would ban individual farmers from collecting payments for multiple farm businesses.

The House measure would ban payments to all who earn an average $1 million a year or more.

The administration has proposed reducing payments to individuals who make more than $200,000.

The current cap is $2.5 million.Sens. Byron Dorgan, D-N.D., and Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, are planning an amendment on the Senate floor that would limit a married couple to $250,000 in subsidies per year. Current law allows $360,000 annually.

The farm legislation would also extend federal nutrition programs, including food stamps, and boost conservation programs to protect environmentally sensitive land.

To make damn sure the voter is a legal citizen, require a notarized United States Birth Certificate, a SSAN card, and last but not least a valid (not expired) drivers license or State I.D. (with picture).
To obtain a drivers license or I.D. you must have the other 2 mentioned above.

So far we have yet to see any real laws placed into effect by this Congress. Why is that?

I remember promises to get our troops OUT of Iraq. I have yet to see it happen, and if the most recent counts are true we have more troops than ever on the ground there. Really carried out that promise huh?

Also why is this Congress unable to call genoicide by the Turks, genocide? Surely they are not that good a friend as to try and cover this one up!

The # 2,158 murdered yearly by illegals is not the number I have heard. It is more like 6,000. 95% of all arrest warrants in Los Angeles for violent and felony offenses are for illegals. Also the # of American citizens killed by drunk driving illegals is more like the 2,158 number. Mike Cutler, a former senior special agent with the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (the former INS), is a fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies and an advisor to Family Security Matters (FSM). He says the high number of Americans being killed by illegal aliens is just part of the collateral damage that comes with tolerating illegal immigration.

"The military actually called for the BORTAC team, ... the elite unit of the Border Patrol, to be detailed to Iraq to help to secure the Iraqi border," Cutler notes. "Now, if our military can understand that Iraq's security depends in measure on the ability to protect its border against insurgents and terrorists, then why isn't our country similarly protecting our own borders?" he asks.

"We are now five and a half years, nearly, after 9/11, and yet our borders remain open," the Center for Immigration Studies fellow observes. "We have National Guardsmen assigned on the border, but it turns out they are unarmed," he points out. "Their rules of engagement are very simple: if armed intruders head your way, run in the other direction."
This situation would "almost be comical if it wasn't so tragic," Cutler asserts. "If our borders are wide open, this means that drugs, criminals, and terrorists are entering our country just as easily as the dishwashers," he says.

The report from FSM estimates that the 267,000 illegal aliens currently incarcerated in the nation are responsible for nearly 1,300,000 crimes, ranging from drug arrests to rape and murder. Such statistics, Cutler contends, debunk the claim that illegal immigration is a victimless crime.

"Then we even have another problem," he adds, "and that's the Visa Waiver Program."

The federal government's Visa Waiver Program enables nationals of certain countries to travel to the United States for tourism or business for stays of 90 days or less without obtaining a visa. According to the U.S. State Department website, the waiver program was established in 1986 with the objective of "eliminating unnecessary barriers to travel," stimulating America's tourism industry, and allowing the government to focus consular resources in other areas.

Cutler says the U.S. retains the Visa Waiver Program because the nation's travel, tourism, and hospitality industries want America's borders wide open. In other words, the former INS official contends, the nation's security is being compromised in the name of trade.

An agent of a group calling itself the Kaweah Indian Nation was contacting churches in Nebraska towns, selling tribal membership rights to illegal immigrants.For an enrollment fee of several hundred dollars, the agent said, the new members would be able to travel freely in the United States as part of the tribe.

There is also another tribe in Fl reportedly doing the same!

They would purportedly be protected against deportation and eventually could attain U.S. citizenship..

So we have the Catholic church active in subverting the U.S. laws on Immigration w/o any repercusions and we have tribes selling citizenship to illegals.

Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas is a fairly famous institution and for a variety of reasons:
1. John F. Kennedy died there in 1963
2. Lee Harvey Oswald died there shortly after
3. Jack Ruby-who killed Lee Harvey Oswald, died there a few years later. by coincidence "
On the flip side, Parkland is also home to the second busiest maternity ward in the country with almost 16,000 new babies arriving each year. (That's almost 44 per day---every day)
A recent patient survey indicated that 70 percent of the women wh o gave birth at Parkland in the first three months of 2006 were illegal immigrants.

That's 11,200 anchor babies born every year just in Dallas .

According to the article, the hospital spent $70.7 million delivering 15,938 babies in 2004 but managed to end up with almost $8 million dollars in surplus funding. Medicaid kicked in $34.5 million, Dallas County taxpayers kicked in $31.3 million and the feds tossed in another $9.5 million.

The average patient in Parkland is maternity wards is 25 years old, married and giving birth to her second child. She is also an illegal immigrant. By law, pregnant women cannot be denied medical care based on their immigration status or ability to pay. OK, fine. That doesn't mean they should receive better care than everyday, middle-class American citizens. But at Parkland Hospital, they do. " Parkland Memorial Hospital has nine prenatal clinics. NINE.

The Dallas Morning News article followed a Hispanic woman who was a patient at one of the clinics and pregnant with her third child---her previous two were also born at Parkland. Her first two deliveries were free and the Mexican native was grateful because it would have cost $200 to have them in Mexico. This time, the hospital wants her to pay $10 per visit and $100 for the delivery but she was unsure if she could come up with the money. Not that it matters, the hospital won't turn her away. (I wonder why they even bother asking at this point.) "How long has this been going on? What are the long-term affects?

Well, another subject of the article was born at Parkland in 1986 shortly after her mother entered the US illegally - now she is having her own child there as well. (That's right, she's technically a US citizen.) These women receive free prenatal care including medication, nutrition, birthing classes and child care classes. They also get freebies such as car seats, bottles, diapers and formula. Most of these things are available to American citizens as well but only for low-income applicants and even then, the red tape involved is almost insurmountable. Because these women are illegal immigrants, they do not have to provide any sort of legitimate identification - no proof of income. An American citizen would have to provide a social security number which would reveal their annual income - an illegal immigrant need only claim to be poor and the hospital must take them at their word. "My husband is a pilot for the United States Navy (yes, he fought in Iraq ) and while the health care is good, we Navy wives don't get any of these perks! Car seats? Diapers? Not so much.

So my question is this:
Does our public medical care system treat illegal immigrants better than American citizens? Yes, it does! As I mentioned, the care I have received is perfectly adequate but it's bare bones, meat and potato medical care - not top of line. Their (the illegals') medical care is free - simply because they are illegal immigrants? Once again, there is no way to verify their income. Parkland Hospital offers indigent care to Dallas County residents who earn less than $40,000 per year. (They also have to prove that they did not refuse health coverage at their current job. Yeah, the 'free' care is not so easy for Americans.) There are about 140 patients who received roughly $4 million dollars for un-reimbursed medical care. As it turns out, they did not qualify for free treatment because they resided outside of Dallas County so the hospital is going to sue them! Illegals get it all free! But U. S citizens who live outside of Dallas County get sued! How stupid is this? As if that isn't annoying enough, the illegal immigrant patients are actually complaining about hospital staff not speaking Spanish.

In this AP story, the author speaks with a woman who is upset that she had to translate comments from the hospital staff into Spanish for her husband. The doctor was trying to explain the situation to the family > and the mother was forced to translate for her husband who only spoke Spanish. This was apparently a great injustice to her.
In an attempt to create a Spanish-speaking staff, Parkland Hospital is now providing incentives in the form of extra pay for applicants who speak Spanish. Additionally, medical students at the University of Texas Southwestern for which Parkland Hospital is the training facility will now have a Spanish language requirement added to their already jammed-packed curriculum. No other school in the country boasts such a ridiculous multi-semester (multicultural) requirement.
In the meantime, I have to end my column here. I have to go buy a car seat."

He made that case at Tuesday night’s Republican debate in New Hampshire, as one interviewer opened the topic with, “Congressman Tancredo, let’s talk immigration.”
Tancredo spoke fervently about doing “whatever is necessary to try and stop this piece of legislation and that includes go after any Republican that votes for it.”

He has since launched the “Save America Campaign,” which aims to kill the current bill through citizen action. Visitors can sign up to let the campaign know if they are willing to help by calling their senators and working against it any way they can, including traditional grassroots methods like petitions and protests. According to Tancredo, over 20,000 people signed onto the campaign within 24-hours. And from Tuesday to Wednesday this week, they raised about $25,000 in online funding -- a significant accomplishment for a campaign this size in that short a period of time.

I find it laughable that one would call basically turning a blind eye to illegal aliens "fair". Lets make those we elected enforce existing laws, and yes it is possible to deport every illegal, but the will/want has to be there. Clearly the people have spoken or we would now have a bill that would cost us a minimum of 2.5 trillon dollars. Kinda like all the money spent on a war that was formed on lies and is still getting our servicemen killed for Bush's lies. You can bet were it what Bush calls terrorists he would have no problem putting troops on OUR borders till proper/promised security measures were in place. We are basically the only country that is the laughing stock of everyone else for our inablity to secure our borders, please show me another country that is so useless on this matter. Hey even Mexico deports thousands that are illegals in their country. Most would not consider it such a bad thing if our population dropped by at least 12 million illegals, just think of the instant savings from their constant and ever growing suction on our tax bases. Xenophobes?, nope we simply refuse to join you in sticking our heads in the sand and saying "fate cannot be changed". It boggles my mind to hear members of Congress make the threat, if you improve a current bill to much we will kill the vote. This is absolutely insane.

We need to force Congress to accept the same term limits as the President! Had we done this long ago members like Kennedy, McCain, and numerous others, wouldn't have had the chance to enact the 1986 bill of Crap, nor would we have this latest treasonous Immigration Reform Bill on the table.

Bush wants to be seen as standing in the center and bringing all sides together. Yes he is "the center" (like a shit magnet) and as such he is able to pull all the ugly shit into the light of day, ( you could say unintentionally ) placing a spotlight on the more sordid deals hatched on that notorious hill. He and those of like ilk, have conned members of the media & now fully expect the people to believe this latest round of Immigration Reform is for the good of the country. If it smells like crap, looks like crap, is drawn to the "crap magnet" then IT IS CRAP! )

It is good for big business who have sub-contractors doing the majority of their labor. They want the law to require anyone except themselves to have the responsibility of verifying the validity of documents proving someone can legally work (be) in the United States. Big business claims by them being required to verify the given documents, their Human Resource Dept., will be bogged down with paperwork and in effect be doing the job of INS. The Dept Of Labor tells Congress, "we haven't enough citizens ect., to fill the jobs"

If the majority of the companies using illegals offered a living wage instead of minimum wage or cents above it there would be legal workers lined up around the block wanting a job. We hear of and often see large numbers of mexicans living in one house or a 2 bedroom apt or where ever, and though I do not support it I have to give credit to them for finding a way to have a roof over their heads. They have found ways to do just about whatever they want during their illegal stay, get drivers licenses, (some get insurance), banks give them credit cards w/o them providing a social security number or a drivers license, if they download an anchor baby they are authorized a residence in the projects ect., they get free medical, free schooling, free...

The next time they have a march, I hope the number of Americans marching in protest makes the other side look like a minor picnic gathering. Look at the population numbers of us and there is no doubt we still out number them, and if the employers didn't fire them previously then god help the economy if they fire us. U.S. salaries average $40,000 a year and we have animosity toward our neighbors in Mexico who are escaping a life of $200 a year. Can we be anymore uncharitable? It's not illegal immigrants who are taxing our medical system. It's our own uninsured who choose to opt out. Their constant refrain of "can't afford medical insurance" is not exactly the truth. The real story is they can't afford medical insurance and their shopping frenzies, too. How much of their income is spent on needless clothing, restaurants, electronics, home improvements, vacations, new vehicles, recreational drugs, interest on credit cards? We are struggling to maintain our materialistic lifestyle. In doing so we cut out things we're in dire need of. Then we are quick to blame those who are least likely to defend themselves, a voiceless group trying to simply live. Somewhere along the way we have lost our footing. Claiming to be Christian, we've become greedy and lacking in compassion. Gov. Brad Henry's signing of House Bill 1804 is a Pontius Pilate cop-out when he said he was signing it as it is the will of the people of Oklahoma. He should have stood up as a leader and vetoed this tragic legislation. What is extremely odd,

How many Americans do you think you can coax out of their SUVs today, to protest the war in Iraq? I’d bet more than 9 out of 10 know hardly anything about what’s going on! They r watching American Idol! It’s almost as if there ISN’T a war going on! “Hey, as long as I can drive my Dodge Avenger, I don’t give a shit who wins,” and that is exactly how most Americans are viewing this thing! So, with all respect to ur activist point of view, I will caution u to not expect too much from this generation of Americans. My very own assistant is ‘pro-conservative’. I’m hoping it’s because she’s 25 and hasn’t seen much yet…but, an opinion arrived at in the formative years is one that endures!

I can see it now. Millions of Mexican illegals coming forward with their $5,000 checks, waving their green cards, shouting "Amnesty at last," "Our borders are secure," "No more illegals," "Thank God for our elected officials!" This Congress and White House have spoken. What a farce. Our "comprehensive immigration bill" is here at last. Out of 814,073 individuals against whom the DHS filed charges in immigration courts from 2004 to 2006, the report found that 86.5 percent of all cases involved some sort of immigration violation, such as entering the United States without inspection, not having a valid immigrant visa or overstaying a student visa.
That is in stark contrast to what agency directors are telling Congress and the American people, said David Burnham, a former New York Times reporter who now co-heads TRAC and worked on the report.

It seems being tenacious can be rewarding in certain cases.

At approx 1545 today I get a call from Enterprise Rental apologizing for what had occured and was there a way they could make it up to me. (( Seems a State Farm represenative had called ref the fiasco this weekend and a correction was in order.)) I told Corey/Enterprise, sure you can make it up to us, I get a rental and you cover all expenses except what State Farm covers. He agreed and before I signed the contract all this was written on it. So we now have a rental car, and my fat butt isn't walking to/from work ect,.

I've yet to hear from Mr Jonathan Gibson / my agent @Cinncinatti - Pine. It sure isn't what their commercial promises is it? I don't want that kind of neighbor.

I also contacted an officer that has been a pal for years and asked if C104 had yet checked w/dispatch to see if the owner (Traci Ellison) had used 911 when calling in the vehicle stolen, and if so what tower did it come in on or was it a transfer from Muskogee 911?

This is what my vehicle looked like @0200 or so on 05/26/2007, after a bm ( boyfriend of the owner ) driving the vehicle owned by Traci Ellison of 5945 E Latimer Pl Tulsa, left the roadway. He came up in my yard & took out the gas meter, a 4'x3' flower box built of 2x12's treated lumber and a section of the drive where the lawn was raised-built up & secured w/wood set in cement and rebar. The suspect's vehicle dropped all the way into the drive pushing my truck 4' N (to the right) and 2' W (forward), he dug his rear tires all the way in trying to get out.

Of course Ellison doesn't have current tags or insurance. She called the police moments after I had, and told them "someone stole my vehicle that my boyfriend was driving and I'm in Muskogee". Lying slut! A witness saw a b/f and a b/m fleeing the scene. I've no doubt Traci was the b/f but I only saw the bm fleeing on foot northward when I ran out of the house.

At no time did my State Farm agent ( Jonathan Gibson ) come to the house, and I've yet to receive a call from him. Their commercials need to state, "We want your money but never ever want to personally assist you!" The claims office advised, "Oh we take care of everything here and will leave a msg on the agents work number."

With it being a Holiday weekend I don't expect to even see a claims adjuster till thursday or so.

Next... I will never ever do business with Enterprise. Don't trust their commercials either!!... unless you are a twin to the booby blonde on their commercials.

The Senate passed the newest War Funds Bill and has sent it to the House, this one does not have a "get out date" as they promised when asking for our vote. They think to appease us with a increase of pennies in the minimum wage. Wonder if it will go into effect as fast as theirs?, anyone know what their's was?

I had to stir the pot on the opinion poll when compromise and illegals were linked. As I said, No Amnesty No Compromise. Round them up like the criminals they are, place the anchor babies in the custody of State Foster Care, (we pay anyway so why not ensure the child is raised American instead of squatting illegals?) deport the rest of the clan. That problem solved.
Next build 2 seperate fences on the border, and the one fatherest from our border - electrify it. That problem solved.

We are told by CNN you have given in to King George, and it appears the news is correct.

1. You advise if benchmarks are not met by the Iraqi's the funds for reconstruction will be withheld.
2. But then you waffle/BLINK and allow King Geroge a way to give them the funds if he sees the need. This is weaseling at it's best.
3. Why can't they use their oil monies and rebuild their own country?
4. The majority of the Iraqi Congress has stated "they want an exit date for ALL AMERICAN TROOPS!!" So why not give them one and bring ALL our troops home by Thanksgiving?

Immigration Reform is the latest tease from the government to the people. Some up there on the hill with you want to give the illegal aliens temporary legal status, offers the chance of permanent residency, ect.
Are we now going to make laws to reward criminals? If you repeatedly break the law you are not only a criminal but a recidivist criminal. This is amnesty, and the majority of the people have stated, NO AMNESTY!!

Iraq is no different than any other country...we should BUTT OUT and mind our own...maybe things here wouldn't be so fucked up! The problem is the U.S. government thinks it can fix people that have had killing taught to them from birth! That's like trying to convert all the Catholics to the Jewish faith!!! DUH!

As for Iraq now...U.S. troops have been there long enough to get to know who is pulling for us and who isn't. As quitely as possible over a set period of time...evac all the people not trying to kill us (to tent camps in the Nevada desert where they can feel at home and we can keep them contained), and wipe Iraq clean! Send the rest back to their homes...and we go home...it wouldn't be easy but it DAMN sure wouldn't take five years!

If citizenship can be proved you will be allowed passage on the return flight. If you cannot prove U.S. citizenship (no matter the age of the person) they will be left in Mexico.

Two days past it seems a bank was robbed in Tripoli, Lebanon. The robbers were pursued by local authorities and fled into Nahr El-Bared, a Palestinian Refugee Camp. The Lebanese Army immediately surrounded the camp and a battle has ensued since.

There are 12 such camps in Lebanon, with 30,000 registered refugees in this camp alone, & it's estimated 400.000 refugees are in Lebanon. The camps under a Peace Accord signed almost a century ago are pretty much autonomous. This Accord prohibits the host government from entering these camps and the refugees are allowed to be armed and govern themselves, & they are allowed to travel if they have the correct I.D. documents.
(Sounds like the government basically allowed 12 mini palestinian countries to be set up in Lebanon.)

The refugees are not denied employment as long as it's meniel labor, and they will never be given Citizenship.

The rogue's are said to be linked to Fatah al Islam ( a spin off of the early day terrorist's founded in Syria ), and of course Al-Qaida. I wonder if their intelligence is as fk'd up as our's when it comes to having a clue about whats going on?

The White House advises, "all parties should step-back", like any Muslim is going to listen to one such as he and will most likely do the opposite.

I really don't care why their fighting, I just hope it pisses off the neighbors to the point all hell breaks loose, all terrorist's (& wannabees) flock to the area for a 30 year war, and Bush has no futher chance of keeping us in Iraq.

Iraq may well be the greatest blunder in modern history. In hind sight, we shouldn't have went in. Now we should win before we leave, but the American people don't have the stomach to properly finish what we started. That is because it would require a draft *gasp* to bring in enough people to secure the borders, refresh the exhausted troops, and clean house.

I've often wondered if a simplistic "redneck" answer to the problem is best. It's not a Christian way of thinking, and I don't exactly condone this idea...but I still can't get it out of my head. Here goes.

1. Pull everyone back in behind the gates of the base for 72 hours.
2. Load B-52s to the gunwales with pamplets, broadcast the same message in every spoken language (and international sign language) to every TV and radio station. The same message on bill boards. Broad cast from loud speakers everywhere in Iraq. Saturate the Iraqi population and the entire world with the same universal message. The message: "We are as tired of this as you are. We want to leave even more that you want us to leave. We can no longer tolerate IED's or sniper fire. The next time it happens, we will immediately pull our people out of the area, and the completely destroy everything within a 400 meter radius. No matter where it occurs. When Iraq has a stable government were outta here!"
3. Then have two B-52s orbiting Iraq at all times, loaded with UNGUIDED ordinance 24/7.
4. Resume operations outside the gate.
5. Follow through with our promise if/when IED's or snipers pull their crap.
6. Using the same methods of communication outlined above, express our sincere remorse and sorrow that they did not believe us.
7. Continue steps 3-6 as needed.

Immediately after the first bombing, we should send the entire world a message. US and USSR never duked it out because of Mutually Assured Destruction. The US and Muslim extremist can have a similiar agreement...just leave out the "mutual" part. Assured Destruction. You see, terrorism is a form of protest. A really chickenshit form of protest. I've read interviews with OBL that state as much. Terrorism as we know it does not occur unless they can take credit for it. "We, the He-man Jew hater's Club did this in the name of our god, because you piss us off."

Tell the whole world: "We will not tolerate Islamic terrorism on American soil. If it EVER happens again, we will fire bomb Medina. If there is ever terrorist activity involving Nuclear, Biological, or Chemical weapons, we will nuke Mecca. The world has to change right now. The status quo is not acceptible."

As if it's not bad enough that China has poisoned our pet food, a recent news story reported that chickens and pigs, bred for human consumption, have been fed the poisoned feed. All the "experts" can say is that maybe we will not experience the same sickness and death as our pets because humans' diets are more varied than those of dogs and cats. Has our current administration favored corporate profits to the exclusion of everything else, including the safety of our food supply? News stories have revealed that China has been spiking wheat gluten and other pet food ingredients with an industrial waste product. This industrial waste product has no nutritional value and is added solely to register a higher protein content. All food products that come into this country, whether for human or animal consumption, should be inspected and tested to prevent a potentially worse incident. Toward that end, all our soldiers serving in foreign countries should be immediately redeployed to the United States to perform the far more important duties of securing the safety of our food, our water and our borders. In the end, it may not be suicide bombers, biological warfare or weapons of mass destruction that takes our lives.

Clinton states “Tough gun control keeps guns out of wrong hands”, please tell me what planet is she living on? You would think she has spent no time at all in D.C. (well at least not the part where the real folks live). Has she checked the crime rate in D.C. lately if ever? Bloomberg advises "If you have a license you can have a gun.“ He fails to mention, nationwide registration always leads to confiscation.
The enactment of Volkmer - McClure- the Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986, brought way over due protection and needs to be kept as it it..
Years before Bloomberg stepped up to this plate, Janet Reno spoke of amending the statue in ways of making it even easier to use against gun ownership and before her was Metzenbaum who tried to amend it & attach it to the now Brady Bill, so it‘s not a new concept. Look at D.C.’s strict gun laws vs. the crime rate, clearly their way doesn’t work. S-77 should be derailed and again it be made clear we will not accept such twisting of the laws. S-77 will benefit only the criminals.

As a birthday gift, a grandfather in Belpre Ohio gives a 1930's vintage Savage .410 single barrel shotgun to his 12 yr old grnddaughter a few miles across the river in St. Marys W.V. Most would call him a wonderful grandfather, but technically he committed a federal felony.

If Schumer has his way, passing down a family heirloom across a state line could jepardize not only you, but your family, your gun club and any otyher like minded organization to which you belong - even the NRA.

Once RICO comes into play, the dealer, or an accused individual, ia subjected to a whole new set of criminal procedures and rules that make defense difficult, if not nearly impossible!

A funny thing happened on the floor of the Senate the other day. Somebody asked a serious question: "If the war in Iraq is lost, then who won?"
Of course Sen. Lindsay Graham, the guy who asked the question, didn't mean it to be serious. He was just scoring points off Majority Leader Harry Reid, the world's only Democratic Mormon. Reid had made a "gaffe" by saying in public what everybody already knows: "The war in Iraq is lost." When you say something obviously true in politics, it's called a "gaffe."
So Graham jumps in to embarrass Reid with his question.
But let's take the question seriously for a second here: who won in Iraq? To answer it, you have to start with a close-up of the region, then change magnification to look at the world picture. At a regional level the big winner is obvious: Iran. In fact, Iran wins so big in this war I think that Dick Cheney's DNA should be checked out by a reputable lab, because he has to be a Persian mole. My theory is that they took a fiery young Revolutionary Guard from the slums of Tehran, dipped him in a vat of lye to get that pale, pasty Anglo skin, zapped his scalp for that authentic bald CEO look, squirted a quart of cholesterol into his arteries so he'd develop classic American cardiac disease, and parachuted him into the outskirts of some Wyoming town.
And that's how our VP was born again, a half-frozen zombie with sagebrush twigs in his jumpsuit, stumbling into the first all-night coffee shop in Casper talking American with a Persian accent: "Hello my friends! Er, I mean, hello my fellow Americans! Coffee? I will have coffee at once, indeed, and is not free enterprise a glorious thing? Say, O brethren of the frosty tundra, what do you say we finish our donuts and march on Baghdad now, this very moment, to remove the Baathist abomination Saddam?"
It took a couple tries for Cheney-ajad to get his American accent right and chew his way into Bush Jr.'s head, but he eventually got us to do the Iranian Ayatollahs' dirty work for them by taking out Iraq, their only rival for regional power. Iraq is destroyed, and Tehran hasn't lost a single soldier in the process. Our invasion put their natural allies, the Shia, in power; gave their natural enemies, the Iraqi Sunni, a blood-draining feud that will never end; and provided them with a risk-free laboratory to spy on American forces in action. If they feel like trying out a new weapon or tactic to deal with U.S. armor, all they have to do is feed the supplies or diagrams to one of their puppet Shia groups, or even one of the Sunni suicide-commando clans.
All these claims that Iran is helping the insurgents really make my head spin. Of course they're helping. They'd be insane if they weren't. If somebody invades the country next door, any state worth mentioning has to act. If Mexico got invaded by China, you better believe the U.S. would react. We'd lynch any president who didn't.
What really amazes me is how patient Iran has been about it, how quiet and careful. They've covered their tracks carefully and kept their intervention to R&D level: just enough to keep Iraq burning, and patiently test out news IEDs.
But that's the Persian way: behind all the yelling, they're sly, clever people. If Iranian intelligence really wanted to flood Iraq with weaponry that would turn our armored personnel carriers into well-insulated BBQs, they could have done it long ago. It's clear they're not doing that. They're smart enough to follow Napoleon's advice not to interfere with an enemy in the process of destroying himself -- and stockpiling the new IED designs on their side of the border in case we're stupid enough to invade.
The situation in Iraq right now is optimum for Iran. Iraq is like a nuclear reactor that they can control by inserting and removing control rods. If Shia/Sunni violence looks like cooling off, Tehran's agents, who have penetrated both sides of the fight, play the hothead in their assigned Sunni or Shia gangs and lobby for a spectacular attack on enemy civilians or shrines -- whatever gets the locals' blood up. Then, if things get too hot, which would mean the U.S. getting fed up and leaving, they drop a control rod into the reactor core by telling Sadr to call off his militia or letting the Maliki regime stage some ceremony for the TV crews, the kind that keeps the Bushies back in Ohio convinced it's all going to come out fine.
They need to keep us there, because -- makes me sick to say it but it's true -- our troops are now the biggest, strongest control rod the Persians are using to set the temperature of this war. They want us there as long as possible, stoking the feuds and making sure nobody wins. That's what we just did under Bush's new Iraq commander, Gen. Petraeus: switched sides, Shia to Sunni, because the Shia were getting too strong. Yeah, God forbid we should be unfair to the Sunnis, God forbid we should do anything to let somebody win. Let's just make Tehran happy by keeping the feud going another few centuries.
One thing Iran is pretty clearly not scared of is every American amateur's dream: a punitive U.S. invasion of Iran. In fact, like North Korea, their partner in the Axis of Evil, Iran is all but begging us to invade. Guys in junior high used to hold their chins out, tap them with a finger and say, "Come on, fucker, come on, hit me!" That's Iran now, chin out and begging for a right hook. Because with all the anti-armor know-how they've gained by now, they have traps waiting for us that would make Lara Croft's cave expeditions look like a backyard tea party. Even Cheney's team knows that, which is why they're talking about air raids on Iran these days, not invasion.
Another way countries can win in a regional war like this is from the money flooding in. The big winners of the Vietnam War were Thailand, Malaysia and Hong Kong. Thailand went from a failed state with a half-dozen insurgencies everywhere outside its central valley to a rich, happy tourist paradise during Nam. Modern Thailand is a country built on the backs and, uh, other body parts of its bar girls. Every time a GI spent his pay at the ping-pong shows in Bangkok, Thailand gained foreign exchange. The neon got brighter, the huts went split-level, and the Commie rebels swatting mosquitoes out there in the elephant grass started to feel a little foolish. Finally they said the Hell with it, bought suits and went Yuppie.
That's one way to beat an insurgency: bribe it. Unfortunately, the two neighboring states likely to benefit from the Iraq war are ... yup, those twin towers of evil, Syria and Iran. Just imagine how much money is flowing into their border provinces right now. Need any U.S.-issue supplies, weapons, toilet paper, or global positioning system units cheap? Just ask at any bazaar in Damascus or Tehran. Uncle Sam's guarantee of quality -- fell off the back of a two-and-a-half ton truck.
See, this is why I keep thinking Cheney's got to be an Iranian mole. How could he not see that a war in Iraq benefits noncombatant neighboring states? He had to know. He can't be that stup -- Wait, I withdraw the comment.
Some paranoids want to list Israel among the winners, but I don't see it. Perle, Feith and Wolfowitz thought invading Iraq would help Israel, or rather Likud, but like everything else these geniuses predicted, it didn't happen. Iraq was never a threat to Israel. Iran is. And Iran is much stronger now. Last summer's war with Hezbollah was one the Israelis didn't really want to fight, but Cheney insisted. That was the deal, I guess: the U.S. takes out Saddam, then you take out Hezbollah. Instead, the Israeli Defense Forces looked scared and weak in South Lebanon, so now Hezbollah and Iran are the poster-boys of every red-blooded Muslim kid on the planet.
Turkey, America's one real ally in the Middle East, is a huge loser in this war. America slapped them in the face, gave the Kurds a base to destabilize southeastern Turkey, and helped elect the first Islamist president in what used to be a proudly secular country. Happy now, Cheney, you Khomeini-loving, anti-American mole?
When you zoom farther out to look at the global picture, the question "Who won Iraq?" doesn't have such an obvious answer. It's much easier to see who lost: Us, and anybody who backed us. We looked invincible after taking out the Taliban. Not no more. If you use armored columns as stationary cops in enemy neighborhoods, you give the locals plenty of time to figure out their weak spots. That's what we did: gave the Arabs a trillion-dollar, multi-year seminar in how to defeat U.S. forces.
To find a winner in this war means looking outside the box, like they say -- or rather outside the theater of war. Because the winners are the countries smart enough to stay out of it.
A little historical perspective first. Who won the Thirty Years War? France and England, the European powers that stayed out or just dabbled. France played that war a lot like Iran has played this one: tinkered around, tampered, spied and whispered to all the contenders, but never risked a big chunk of money or force. Every country that took part lost, and the Germans, who had what you might call the home field disadvantage, lost most of all, up to a third of their population. So the Iraqis would win the Oscar for biggest losers here.
So the likely winner of a war like this is an up-n-coming world economic power that has been investing in its own economy while we blow a trillion -- yep, a trillion -- dollars on nothing. Not hard to figure out who the likely suspects are here.
The answer to "Who won Iraq?" is Iran in the short run, and in the long run, China and India.
While we flounder around in the Dust Bowl, they've been running up their reserves, putting the money into infrastructure and bullion. The moment you wait for in a setup like this is the inevitable alliance between the regional winner and the global winners. And voila, it's already happened: In February Iran and India signed a pipeline deal sending Iranian oil to the exploding Indian market, bypassing Bush's Saudi/U.S. petro-outpost. If it weren't for Pakistan, the pipeline would already be in place. And as you might have guessed, Iran and India are talking about how easily the pipeline can be looped over the Himalayas to China -- an overland route invulnerable to U.S. sea power.
Luckily Pakistan lies right across the route and Pakistan is so hopelessly messed up that the CIA and Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) between them should be able to keep the black smoke pouring out of any section of line the Asiatics manage to finish.
But even that's bad news: we're reduced to a spoiler role, conspiring with the nastiest creeps in the world, the ISI, to keep our blood enemy Iran from forming a natural, inevitable market relationship with the two rising powers that have spent their money smart while we pissed it down the Tigris. A country as big and resilient as America can afford to lose a war now and then, especially when it's in a place like 'Nam, way off the trade routes. But a war like this ... I don't know.
What's worst is that the war has made us dumber. When Sen. Graham asked his question, "Who won Iraq?" he thought he was being clever. He thought we're too dumb and soft to face that question and its answers. Because there are answers, pretty grim ones. I just hope people are tough enough to start thinking about them.
Anyway, for those of you collecting guidelines, here's what I think are some general rules for "Who wins wars?"
1) In a big bloodbath like the Thirty Years War or WWI, the winner is usually the powers that don't fight, but dabble in spycraft and wet ops, meanwhile consolidating their own economic power.
2) The biggest loser is almost always the country on whose territory the war is fought. (Note: You could argue that America entered WWII fairly early and still came out ahead, but on the European Front up to D-Day our role was supplying materiel to the Russians and letting them do all the bleeding for us. On both fronts we were far away from the action and that allowed us to pick where and when to commit money and troops, so the generalization still holds: the further away you are, the better.)
3) In a regional war, the big winner will be any neighboring states that can stay out of the war and work out supply contracts with the richer combatant (Thailand during 'Nam, Argentina in WWI, Switzerland in every war since Ur took on Ur South).
4) However, if there's an ethnic spillover, like Turkey has with the Kurds, this relationship can backfire.
5) The worst thing a major power can do is go to war alone for "moral" reasons. This is how medieval France wasted its huge advantages on pointless Middle Eastern crusades that did nothing but revitalize the Muslims and drive down the price of white slaves in the Cairo market.
Damn, another unbelievably infuriating deja vu deal: we end up wasting our armies in the deserts of the Middle East, just like the French. Except even the French were too smart to fall for it this time around.

Good morning Mrs. Pelosi.
What was it Mr. Gates said? A decrease in the daily killing of civilians will not be a requirement to show progress. Please tell me what would be an acceptable requirement to Mr. Gates for extending out troops even longer in the area?

Fund our troops and wait for another report card, is what President Bush seemed to be saying this morning on CNN. That is asinine, President Bush has had 6 years to solve this problem and we can't let him continue.

The War Funds Bill needs to have set guidelines and deadlines so we can reign in his daydreams that have turned into nightmares. His funds and extended powers should have been cut the minute he declared, "Mission Accomplished". Please make it happen now.

I agree with the Senator on CNN yesterday that spoke of our current and future contributions, If Saudia Arabia, Jordan and Egypt refuse to bring pressure on the Iraqi Government and those causing the destabilization of the region, why should the U.S. give more of our blood and dollars? Why Are We? How much more can we afford to give this country? How many more American lives will be lost?

Sanctuary or Aiding & Abetting A Criminal?

Each of the "specific" churches that offer sanctuary to any illegal is in violation of the law. They are aiding & abetting criminal activity.

Please read/investigate further but here is my main point in saying "Look to the Rico Act to get control of these law breakers" The Rico act can be used on more things than the Mafia.
The head of an orginization can be imprisoned because he operated and managed a criminal enterprise that engaged in such acts. Moreover, under section 1964(c) of the RICO Act, the victims can sue civilly and recover the economic losses they sustained by reason of the business's pattern of racketeering.

Is is not the rule, tax exempt status can be revoked if you violate the law?

As there is no legal recognition of "church sanctuary" in U.S. Law, these church's have no legal standing and ICE should immediatley go in and uphold the law. Politics is the controller at the moment, & Lady Justice is being held hostage.

Help cut the ropes that bind her, demand all our laws be upheld or what is the use of having even one law?

What's Good For The Goose Isn't Good For The Gander?

We hear on the news, “The Government of Iraq wants to take a vacation.” We also hear the voices of discontent on this matter.
How many days off have the Congress & President Bush had off (other than the accepted 2 days a week) since this war started? Is our government willing to pass on any future vacations till the war has ended?
Somehow I don’t think any of the leadership in Washington will agree to this and that shows just how little they care. I don’t see the troops getting any time off during their tour/s and they are the one’s who deserve it the most!
We should demand our leaders stay and work till ALL our troops are brought home.

I saw you on CNN saying something to the effect, "We will live for today & we will not rehash the past".
Sir were you part of the Congress that allowed this fiasco in the 1st place? Are you not part of the past leadership? Hmmm what was your stand when they were allowed amnesty before? Why have you not attached Border Security to all War Funds Bills? I think it more important than the spinach farmers and Dairy's.

It's asinine to advise, "don't look at the past" does this also apply to the lousy leadership reference Iraq? Seems we didn't anticipate lots of things in Nam or Iraq, like a "real" plan for pull out if we are clearly not wanted.
If our troops were really wanted in Iraq by the people of Iraq we would have a lot more of them assisting us instead of tying to kill us.
If we had been wanted in Nam things would have also turned out differently.
Why is this so hard to admit?

I do not beleive allowing the illegals here to have a path to citizenship is right. They are no better that those who have waited such a long time to be here legally. What makes the Mexican's so important to our leaders? What gives them the right to break our laws and throw them back in our faces? Those here illegally have done just that the minute they illegally came in and have continued to do so by staying here.
Why is this so hard to admit?
I can promise the voters will again tell you 1st chance they get "You work for us not Mexico, just as you work for us reference Iraq!"

Consider The Bird Feeder

I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled it with seed. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food.

But then the birds started building nests in theboards of the patio, above the table, and next to thebarbecue. Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patiotile, the chairs, the table...everywhere. Then some of the birds turned mean: They would divebomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket. And others birds were boisterous and loud: They sat onthe feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours ofthe day and night and demanded that I fill it when itgot low on food.

After a while, I couldn't even sit on my own back porch anymore. I took down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio. Soon, the back yard was like it used to be...quiet,serene and no one demanding their rights to a free meal.

Now lets see...our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, free education and allows anyone born here to be a automatic citizen. Then the illegals came by the tens of thousands.
Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for free services;small apartments are housing 5 families: you have towait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor:
your child's 2nd grade class is behind other schoolsbecause over half the class doesn't speak English:
Corn Flakes now come in a bilingual box;
I have to press "one" to hear my bank talk to me in English, and people waving flags other than "Old Glory" are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free liberties.
Maybe it's time for the government to take down the bird feeder.
